Gerome looked anxiously at the neon green digital alarm clock on the table to the right of his single bed, clutching the small lime-green birthday candle from his celebration with his foster family. He had turned sixteen two minutes before and was waiting for someone else to turn sixteen.
8 second to 12:02am, Gerome lighted the birthday candle and waited.
The minute changed and Gerome blew the candle excitedly, hoping his thoughts would be sent to the one person he had wanted to get to know most in his sixteen years of life. He concentrated on the person’s essence to which he would send the thought
Hello, Annabelisa Rowanna Mathilda Chambers. I am Gerome Rowan Chambers, your twin brother separated at birth. You would have already gotten your powers now, and I hope you receive this thought of mine. I wonder if you’re a duo-elemental like me. Anyway, I sincerely hope to meet you someday.
As the smoke dispersed, so did Gerome’s thoughts, only to form back in Lisa’s mind.
Gerome then went to sleep anticipating the next day. It would be his sister’s first day in Unknown High, since she had just only received her powers. He hoped to see her in school. The school he had learned so much from.
Gerome could also not wait for what his girlfriend had planned for him. Kassady, his girl of 3 years never ceased to amaze him on special occasions. At times he had tried to surprise her himself, but he never really succeeded. He never was good at controlling his excitement in the first place. In the end, he had given up and just let Kassady do the surprising.
Gerome drifted off with a smile on his face, thinking of his sister and his girlfriend, hoping the morrow would arrive in a flash.
